Ringling Museum – Sarasota, FL. Tuesday April 30, 2019
John Ringling, one of the five brothers who owned and operated the Ringing Circus and his wife Mable, created one of the most beautiful properties in Sarasota. The Ringling Museum consists of three museums on one piece of property. The Museum of Art, a 21-gallery museum which highlights a collection of Old Masters, including Velazquez, Poussin, van Dyke and Rubens. The second “museum” is Ca’ d’Zan, or “House of John” in the Venetian dialect. This magnificent home sits on the bay of Sarasota and was supervised by Mable herself in every aspect of the construction. The third museum is the Circus Museum, which documents the beginning of the Ringling Brothers and the finale being the 44,000 Howard Model Circus Model.
